We hear it all the time; it's so important to get kids outside! But how do you do it?! Luckily, this week we have nature play expert, Reagan Fulton, on the pod to talk us through how to get them outside! We discuss why it's important and how to start incorporating risky play into your nanny day too! This episode was a blast to record! Now get outside!
lay dates are an important part of helping our little ones develop social skills! They can also be a highlight in a long week, especially when school is out! Cady Leinicke is back to talk through Play Dates in all their glory! From a child deciding last minute that they would rather stay home to a parent forgetting to tell you about a play date that's happening in 30 minutes, we cover it all!
If you've never visited Danny Joe's Tree House, you are in for a treat! This week I have the creator and star of a wonderful up and coming children's show, Danny LaBrecque, to discuss methods of communicating to children through play. Often, a child may not have the words to tell us exactly how they are feeling or what is wrong. But through active listening and observing their play, we can discover ways into their inner life and guide them to healthier emotional choices!
Bullying is a complicated and difficult topic. As nannies, we are often the first to see signs of bullying in our nanny kids and, sometimes, the first person a child tells when they are being bullied. My guest this week, Katherine Siegel, is currently directing a play (Gideon's Knot) that really digs into these issues and came on to talk about ways we, as nannies, can help set our nanny kids up to not be bullied and also not become the bully!
