When this week's guest, Lesley Koplow, couldn't find a book to address the current struggles of little ones during COVID-19, she decided to write one herself! "Lilah in the Land of The Littles is a story for children in the time of Covid. Lilah is struggling with all of the changes in her life brought about by the Coronavirus." This book is a wonderful resource to help you start talking to your little ones about their feelings around the abrupt changes over the past year due to Covid. It offers imaginative play as the antidote to the stress of being in isolation for a year now! I highly recommend this book and the conversations that come along with reading it!
This week I was delighted to be joined by two fabulous guests to discuss the power of story! Mister John is an author, librarian, and genealogist. Nanny Miss Monique curates children's books with diversity and wonderful stories. We sat down to talk about what a powerful tool storytelling can be when working with kids and offer some library tips as well! We recorded during a snowstorm and so the sound is a little off but the episode was too great not to post! Check it out and thanks for listening!
September is Alopecia Areata Awareness Month. My guest and dear friend, Cady Leinicke, has Alopecia and joins us once again to share her story and tips for helping little ones take back their confidence! If your little one or someone you know has Alopecia, this episode can offer insight and ways to help support them!
Every nanny has those days where literally everything that could go wrong, seems to go wrong. So I invited my friend and world class sommelier, Dan Kroes, on to pair some drinks with stories from the nanny community of no good, very bad days! This episode is fun, but please enjoy these recommendations responsibly! Enjoy!
