It has been quite a while since I have contributed on Machine Culture -- somewhat due to the work load in my company Epital, but mostly due to the workload of becoming farther to my first child this spring. But this story, brought to my attention by Boing Boing, brought me back to the keyboard:

I like the experiment itself, though. Why is a pickle lightening up like a light bulb when a current is passing though it? Nice experiment to demonstrate some chemical properties of a vegetable I guess.
