All problems should have a technological fix. When my wife and I moved to a new apartment a few month ago, we moved from a place with no bath at all (no shower, no bathtub, no nothing), no dishwasher and washing machine for the cloth in the basement (we were living on the 5th floor and there were no elevator either). Apart from the bath I firmly believe that it is perfectly possible to live and do well in an apartment like that, but HOT DAMN its nice moving on! Now we have all the usual household appliances and they work:
1) No more discussion of whos turn it is to do the dishes - the machine does it
2) No more discussion about when to wash my stinking sports cloth - or where it shall be placed until it is washed - the machine does it.
3) No more "where is my favorite jeans?". They are always clean and in the closset.
The list is longer, but the point is short: These machines work - technology simply made this part of my life simpler and more pleasant. No buts.
