Angry Voice Survaillance

minihooligan.jpgIn the city of Groningen in Netherlands, a system has been setup to detect angry voices. The sound based detection method supports the survaillance cameras, and according to developer Peter van Hengel, it is rather difficult to imitate an angry voice – an aspect which is promising a certain level of robustness.

The system is developed by Sound Intelligence - a spin-off company of the University of Groningen, while this piece of news was found at New Scientist via Intelligent Sound website – a research project at Technical University of Denmark.
