I saw a Segway the other day, in Lyngby - a suburb to Copenhagen. A guy in the bikelane moving along as if he had been biking or transporting himself by any other average and ordinary method. Segways in Denmark are not that common - in fact I have never seen any ion action before - but in San Diego I tried them out with my wife and a friend. We got 20 minutes of instructions and then went out with our helmets on to play around. Also, the blog Laughing Squid reported on some segway polo as a rather alternative sport.
This guy in Lyngby was heading in the direction of the Technical University of Denmark and I would be very surprised if that was a coincidence: Geeky places attracts special people with unorthodox solutions to everyday issues. But nice indeed: I fully support this electronically driven alternative to a noisy scooter!
